Howdy folks. Here to talk about another one of Duckworth's products. This time we're going to talk about Comet, which is a bi-ply. To define a bi-ply, any time you take two distinct fabrics and you bond them together into a single fabric, you create a bi-ply.

What we do here at Duckworth, we take two layers. We take a 100% AAA Merino wool layer, which is the outer facing surface of this fabric, and we bond it to a 100% polyester layer, which is everything against your skin. And the reason we do that is, polyester is a hydrophobic material, which means it cannot absorb any water. So as you begin to perspire and you're wearing this, the sweat comes out of your skin, it hits this fabric here which is polyester. The polyester can't absorb it, it doesn't want it, and it pushes it outward. And what's waiting for it is this here, which is 100% wool. Wool is hydrophilic, which means it loves water. It will pull that water off of the polyester absorbent and when wool absorbs water it heats up.

So if you're looking for a great fabric to basically keep you dry and warm even when it's wet, Comet is the best one. And from a personal viewpoint, I own every fabric that Duckworth makes. This is the fabric that I have the most miles in. I wear it in every configuration we have. This is the most comfortable sort of mid-weight fabric that we make and I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed in Comet.
